The American Burger

As an American, I know that I know that I don't speak for myself when I say that we love our burgers... I love eating Burgers. Even though I don't eat them all the time; whenever I can, I love enjoying a delicious burger. So I made my own: Super yummy, soft burger buns with my very own homemade sauce and melting cheese atop a grilled to perfection turkey burger with crisp lettuce. Served with a side of sweet potato fries. Mmmmm.... I want more. This is a fun Saturday junk food. For those days when you don't feel like going out or feel like eating something junkie but don't have money for it. Or even for those days when you want junk food but hate the guilt that comes along with eating it : - ) This is a less junkie, junk food if such a category were to exist.

Ingredients
Hamburger buns
ground beef burger patties or (healthier option - turkey burger patties)
lettuce
slice cheese
For Sauce: 3 tbsp mayonnaise, 3 tbsp ketchup, pickles

Take your burger buns and bake them in the oven as directed on the package or on 375F (185C) for about 45 minutes to an hour or until your burger is cooked all the way through with no pink and Is well browned on the outside. Take out your burgers and immediately place a slice of cheese on top of the burger.

Get your Burger buns and butter both sides of it. In a frying pan on low medium heat fry the burger bun (Butter side down) for about 2 minutes, just to give that extra crisp taste. Wash your lettuce and pat it dry with a paper towel. ( Do Not put your dripping wet lettuce directly on your sandwich, it will taste horrible and cause your bread to get soggy.)

Lastly get a small bowl and put in your mayonnaise and ketchup. Dice up your pickles really small and add them into your mixture. Mix it all together well until nice and pinkish. Use this as your burger sauce. Assemble the burger whatever way you like best, using all of these ingredients.

Goes great with chips, fries or even as I have here sweet potato fries
From my kitchen to yours
God Bless
