Homemade Ice cream

Who doesn't like Ice cream. I for one absolutely love it. Ice cream is something that every culture enjoys in one way or another. It's amazingly easy to make. Of course there are thousands of different flavored ice creams as well as different textured ones, even the more healthy soy or even yogurt ice creams. They all taste good to me. Especially on a hot summers day or as a yummy dessert. However you like your ice cream, enjoy your own homemade batch from scratch.
Here are two ice creams I made recently, one was 'cookie crumb lime' and the other was 'butter pecan' Here is the recipe

Cookie Crumble Lime Ice Cream

1 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1  1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup  lime juice ( cut about 3 limes in half and squeeze as much of the juices out as possible)
1/2 cup crumbled  (cookie or cake of your choice - A plain cake or cookie is best)

Take all of your ingredients ( except for the cookie crumble) and blend it all together in a blender until smooth. Then pour your ingredients into a big bowl and add in your crumble and mix it in with a spoon to be a bit chunky. Pour your entire mixture into a freezable container and let freeze for about 3 hours or overnight until firm. Then scoop out with your ice cream scoop and serve.

Butter Pecan Ice Cream

1 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 cups heavy cream
3 tablespoons melted butter
1 teaspoon maple syrup (same one used for pancakes)
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Take your pecans and put them in a frying pan and on medium low heat shake around a bit and allow to cook slowly for about 4 minutes until  it is lightly browned and toasted.       ( Be Careful not to burn, overcooking it causes it to burn)

Take your heavy cream and place it into a big bowl and whip it on medium high speed for about 5 minutes until it becomes thick like whipped cream. Then in a separate bowl combine your condensed milk, toasted pecans, melted butter and maple syrup and mix well. Then take your whip cream mixture and lightly mix it in to your cream mixture with a spatula or a wooden spoon in a slow folding motion. It helps to keep it fluffy.

Pour your mixture into a freezable container and freeze for about 4 hours or overnight until firm. Scoop out and serve.
