Potatoes Au Gratin or Scalloped Potatoes

Potatoes Au Gratin also known for its other name scalloped potatoes are really a delicious way to eat your potatoes. So smooth and well seasoned soft potatoes with a cheesy light crunch. and so easy to make. I ate it today for lunch along side a clod broccoli vinagrette salad and lightly seared bacalaou covered in olive oil tossed onions.

Ingredients
Potatoes (peeled and thinly sliced)
seasonings of your choice (I used salt, pepper and chives)
1 cup heavy cream
1 egg
shredded Mozzarella cheese

Get a pyrex and lightly put a bit of olive oil on the bottom, line up your sliced potatoes all on one layer and sprinkle on top of that your seasonings and a little of the cheese. Repeat the same procedure again by lining up your potatoes, seasonings and cheese. Keep repeating the process until you are done.

Separately in a small pot warm up your heavy cream for a few minutes just until it lightly boils. Turn off the fire and Crack your egg inside the pot and mix quickly. Pour this entire mixture over the potatoes. Cover the pyrex with aluminum foil and bake for about 1 hour to 1 hour and a half or until your potatoes are soft.
