Shepherds Pie

Shepherds pie
7 Potatoes
minced meat (I use turkey minced meat, it is way healthier and to me tastes better)
diced garlic,onions and pepper
1/4 cup milk
2tbsp butter
salt, pepper, lawry's

Peel and cut your potatoes into big chunks. Boil it in water for about 15 - 20 minutes until it is soft. Mash it like mashed potatoes and put a little bit of butter and milk just to make it creamy, put some salt and pepper. Set it aside.

In a separate pot put some oil and add your garlic, peppers and onions. If you like this add a lot but if you don't like it as much add it still for flavor but put a little. Sautee it for a few minutes until it gets golden then add in your minced meat and cook it for about 15 minutes until it is well browned and fully cooked. While cooking add in your seasonings. A little, salt, pepper, lawrys is what I used. (be careful to not over season) set it aside.

Grab a pyrex and put half of your mashed potato on the bottom half of the pyrex then put a layer of your minced meat in the middle , Put the other half of your potato on top and finish off with a little bit of your minced meat on the very top. If you choose you can sprinkle a little bit of cheese on top for extra flavor and looks.

Your done. Eat and enjoy.

God Bless

  1. hi! This sounds really good but I have a question...

So once you put it in the pyrex you serve it right away? with no further cooking?

    thanks, God bless :)

  2. Hi Alicia, how are you? Yes, normally I do not put it back into the oven. But if you choose to add a little cheese. If you want to, you can put it in for just about 5 minutes. Just in order for the cheese to melt.

my family isn't much into mixed veggies,I know they will devour the shepherds pie and leave the nice veggies there no matter how I make them look lol what other sides would you recommend to use?

    Thanks!

  4. Hi Alicia, veggies are really important you should try to find a way to add into the food if they dont want to eat it alone. Try to mix a little at a time into the minced meat or whatever dish you are cooking. But there are many sides that can be made if you look at my blog post titled your side dish (search for it on the search bar) but I will make sure to add more sides to my blogs for you to see.
