This yogurt, was taught to me in Cape Verde. It is a great recipe for homemade yogurt. Really delicious and can be made to your own liking. Take a look. Try it and let me know what you think of it. Share you picture or comment on how your homemade yogurt came out. Email me at elisesinbox@yahoo.com

250g Powder milk
1/2 litre water
1 natural plain yogurt
1/2 litre boiling water
1 can condensed milk
flavor essence of your choice (strawberry, lemon, coconut etc.)

To make:

Take your  1/2 litre of water and put it in a big container and add your powder milk, mix till smooth. Mix in  the plain yogurt and the flavor of your choice and the condensed milk. Add,  in your boiling water  and mix together again.

Your done.

It will be a thick cream. Turn your oven on to 350F or 165C. Then turn it off. Divide into containers and  set them all onto a pyrex or a dish and put a thick towel on top of it all. Put it in the oven, cover and  allow it to steam in the oven that was turned off. Leave for 4 hours and then put in fridge to cool.

  1. Hm, interesting. So when you say flavor essence, what does that mean? Like extracts?

  2. Yes, extracts because that is what gives it the flavor you want to get : )
