Making lemonade out of a lemon

I first heard this saying from a very wise man. If you think about it, it's completely genius. For you to take something simple from your kitchen that looks like nothing and make it into something creative and amazing. It takes creativity, strive and talent.

'Making lemonade out of a lemon' is a saying that goes far deeper than what it means literally. It stands for taking any situation around you and making something bigger and better out of it.  What a positive out look on life!!!

But today I chose to use this saying literally and made fresh squeezed lemonade. I was spending so much money on buying juices from the store and was given the idea by my mom. If you think about it you spend a lot on juices (especially if you have a family like mine who likes to drink :  ) also store bought juices are not 100% but instead have added sugars and are from concentrate. So cut back on your shopping costs and make lemonade.

There is nothing better to drink than  a cold fresh squeezed lemonade. So refreshing...

All you need to do is:

7 lemons
1 1/2 cup sugar (your choice ; put a little at a time and taste. Some people like it sweeter than others)
1 gallon water


Squeeze your lemons with a squeezer or just cut it in half and with a fork squeeze out the juices into a cup. Then add the lemon juices to the water and also add in your sugar and mix.  That simple.  Put it in the fridge and serve it cold.

Do you get a white ooze when cooking Salmon?

Does your salmon often look like this when you cook it? Tried baking, frying, poaching it but this stuff keeps coming out? Quick tip: when cooking salmon it is common for a white sort of cream to come oozing out all around the fish. Though it does not affect the taste. It can be found to be annoying and not pretty. But I found the trick to solving this problem, it happens because salmon is an oily fish, there are many oils within the fish itself. When cooking all of these oils come out in the form of this white ooze, normally from my own experience, when this happens the fish tends to become dry. Because now all of that moisture and oils meant to keep the fish succulent and juicy was just taken out. I found a solution to this problem. To keep all the oils locked in, you need to dry out the surface of the fish.  Before seasoning drizzle a little bit of vinegar on the fish and rub it in well. Continue your seasoning process. Went to Chili's a little while ago and as a side had their loaded mashed potatoes. I fell in love with it but couldn't stop thinking about how simple and cheap it is to make for myself at home.
