Braided Salmon with Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce

A must try for all seafood lovers. Delicious, simple to make and in minutes you will have a great meal that you and your family can enjoy. Feel free to adjust the recipe as you like. I made it a few days ago and absolutely loved it. Goes great with roasted potatoes and salad or rice and broccoli. Very light, healthy and easy to make. The braid in the salmon elevates the look of the dish and makes it look delightful. See how to make it below.

Braided Salmon w/ garlic lemon butter sauce

Ingredients
Salmon
jumbo shrimp
vinegar (suggested - optional)
2 lemon
5 gloves fresh crushed garlic
1 fresh parsley
1 cup butter
Seasonings: salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, old bay seasoning

Preheat your oven to 400F or 204C
Rinse your salmon, lightly rub a little bit of vinegar on the top of the salmon. Season your Salmon with a little bit of each seasoning, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and old bay seasoning. Careful not to over season.
( Tip: Vinegar helps to dry out the oils in salmon allowing it to not have a white foam coming out as it cooks)

Once seasoned, Cut your salmon into 4 long strips and holding the 4 strips on one end, gently braid your salmon by over lapping each strip over each other. Once this is done, gently place your salmon on a baking tray. rinse your shrimp and season with a little garlic and salt and gently place them on top of your braided salmon.

In a small pot on medium low heat place your garlic and butter in the pot and sautee until garlic is lightly brown and fragrant, add in your lemon and reduce heat to low and allow to simmer for  15 - 20 minutes. Pour your sauce on top of the salmon and shrimp and bake in the oven uncovered for 20 min.

Careful not to overcook your salmon, when salmon is ready it is a slightly light pink color and flaky when touched with a fork, Overcooking makes salmon rough and rubbery.

Enjoy with rice, salad, potatoes or however you like
